at Last the Handsome Duke Leonard, is going to marry Marien.
I'm addicted to this!!! Stunning dolls and pict, beautiful stories.... and i really wanna know what happen when leonard comforted her.. come on, nobody curious about that?? And i wish there's a story about leonard and marien met...
I'm really enjoying the Carved Heritage story and the photography is stunning.
It would be great to have the stories and pics in a little book - I'd buy it for sure!
She's lovely, and her uniform is gorgeous! The "Off Limits" in the end made me laugh out loud. ^_^
@grayghost — OTOH, she did so on the explicit orders of the Marquis ... I suppose Leonard isn't so much a pirate as a privateer.
But I'm still wondering about the Derringer!
Love her face! Incredibly lifelike. One of the best dolls I ever seen. Great job, Iplehouse!
Congratulations, Marien's beautiful! Her dress and uniform are both stunning as well. . . Loving the story too!
What a great story! The clothes are amazing and Marien is so pretty! And the photography is beautiful :)
Well Quiet Queen, Marien married Leonard. LOL So much for her naval career. Now she will be a lady Pirate.
So Preeeettttttyyyyyy!!!! Charming little story as well and wonderful outfits - both of them!
I love this story.
Oi! We're skipping chapters here!
How did the scene when Lawrence and Edan finally realise that they are brothers play out?!
So ... is the Derringer included in the "Rapier" option, or what?
Happy endings all round! This makes me smile :)
Marien is lovely. The new SID hands look beautiful.
@ quiet queen, yes I see now you are right ... the gun but is off ;p. As for me the uniform WILL come home.. we will see about the dress... I may replace Merian with the SID Yur I want ;p As for what got me from CH? Almost everything >< I have Bliss, Leonard & Edan all 'doubled' full set ><. I didn't like Pam or her dress but got the weapons lol. If I didn't like the doll but wanted the rest I did the split routes...So really what I didn't get was Pam's outfit an nothing from Cordelia or Harace's limited stuff. But I took the red/black set from Scarlet... O_o... I must be nuts >< But IH tapped into my general genre lol so I'm sunk until this dumb thing is over... oh but I skipped Vera... she is to near the end of the century fashion wise for me ;p lol.
Well Quiet Queen, Alas I do not have them all and all were on layaway. I could not get Leonard first time around but was able to get him in the re run of the series. I could not get Bane, the wallet on empty then. He so reminds me of Charles Vane in Black Sails though if you watch the Starz series. And that is a good thing such a tough, mean pirate nemesis!!!!
I hope to get this girl for sure. Rumor has it another EID female, wishful thinking perhaps. But a friend told me so.
@grayghost — Carved Heritage does indeed stand out. I can't remember having seen anything like it — an actual episodic story arc told in doll releases — before in the history of this hobby!
For my own part, I've gone all Steampunk Pirate. I "only" have Scarlet and Bane from CH ... and my wallet fervently hopes that no more must-haves crop up!
Quiet Queen, It is all fantasy. Such wonderful fantasy. Who doesn't love it? It is fun to speculate and wonder the possibilities. Will you be making her part of your crew? I hope to but I will pair her with Leonard and not Lawrence, as in my story Lawrence finds himself attracted to the dark side and goes for Pamela head over heels. LOL Edan on the other hand reached into another story and is paring himself with Grace.
@Tiku — no, I do not think that is Pamela's gun. Actually, I am sure of it. That looks very much like a classic Derringer.
And even carrying Pamela's tiny matchlock in its own holster belt would be a bit ... remarkable. But carrying a Derringer like that is .. well. The only word that comes to mind is "dainty".
@grayghost — that might have been so, had the Carved Heritage storyline been set on historic Earth. Since it is obviously set in a Fantasy world only loosely based on this world's 17-18th Century, who's to say what careers women can uphold in the military services of whichever nation's navy she is an officer of?
Or rather, in that world, in that nation's navy, women obviously CAN hold positions as officers, without needing to hide their gender. And in that navy, that IS an actual uniform. Just like Lawrence's uniform does not match a real-world historical uniform, it is still an actual naval uniform — in the Fantasy world of Carved Heritage.

Is she carrying a Derringer ... in a dedicated holster belt? Oh gods, that is dainty...!
I would guess that is Pamela's bitty gun you see... I also think it might be painted a teeny bit diferently... I think the sword seems more 'metallic silver' too?
Quiet Queen, her uniform of course though military looking is not an actual uniform since she has been steampunked or time traveled into another era. If she were truly in service at the time of this type of uniform she would have attempted to hide her identity as a woman, bind herself, cut her hair, conceal her shapely hips with baggy clothing and not look so voluptuous. But I can not wait to see the whole package, I am with you. She looks so wonderful. She looks French!!!!

Anyway — @grayghost: the expression is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. It goes to show the versatility of the sculpt, though.
The cut and style of her uniform seems to be naval, although she could of course still be a double agent, even though she wears the uniform of a naval officer.
I am however slightly bewildered by the design intent. The creator story behind Marien suggests that the choice of fabric for the uniform was governed by a desire to create a softer impression beside Lawrence's navy blue. However, I usually find that in the context of military dress, white creates a much sharper impression than just about any other colour, including black.
In all, I am very curious to see more pictures when they come, and to read Marien's story...!
She is wonderful!! :D
I would love to see an outfit like this for a lady pirate (in red and gold brocade, or in burgundy and black, with silver trim) . . . an amazing coat and trousers, with sword belts and a vest.
Marien looks fantastic in her uniform -- may we please get an outfit suitable for a Pirate Queen? :)

You have a valid point though I envision her as a double agent and the pursed lips although may be disapproving to you look very sensual and come hither to me as if she is in love with her foil.
In these first two preview images (it may be a trick of the light) she seems to purse her lips ever so slightly, giving her a somewhat disapproving look.
That, coupled with her apparent youthfulness, stern bearing, and the very military and strict white Navy uniform, seems to make her in almost every aspect diametrically opposed to the more mature, smiling ... smirking, almost ... casual, and very piratical Scarlet.
Grade 1A antagonist material, to my mind!
Now ... when additional picures are posted in the near future, I may get a different impression of Marien's character, but from these first two pictures -- clearly she must be Scarlet's long-time deadly rival on the high seas!
Now she is my idea of a lady Pirate. Oh Iple she is nice.
Lovely work, as always!
I can sort of see her as the perfect antagonist/rival to Scarlet...
