Regarding recent resin change

Hello, this is Iplehouse.

Recently there are some issues regarding our resin and we want to explain our situation to all of you.

First, we want to explain why we had to change the resin last winter. Last December we experienced short supply in French resin. It is one of the resin we used to make dark skins like Peach Gold, Special Real, and Light Brown. It was out of supply for more than 3 months and since it was our peak season, we had no choice but to change the resin. This happened several times in the past so we decided to change the formula itself.

We used French resin to give transparency to the doll. But it has some weak points too. It is vulnerable in light and fragile to handle. So we decide to use an opaque B resin which is more resistant to light and stable. This is the resin we used for several years and it isn’t a brand new one. In case of tan skins, we used both French resin and B resin but we have been using only B resin in bright skins. So B resin isn’t a new resin but a resin we used to produce White, Normal and Ebony skin for several years.

This change was made suddenly due to short supply but it was one of the issues we have been considering for a long time. Since there are several weak points in French resin, we were looking for another resin which can overcome current weak points. We have been testing several resins to find a resin which is transparent, UV resistant and harmless. Unfortunately we haven’t found a perfect one yet but B resin is the closest one. Since this B resin is the best resin between all the resins we are going to use current B resin until we find a better one.

Secondly, we also know that some of you are interested if it has yellowing or greening problem. Since it is a resin we have been using for several years we know that it is more resistant in light compared to French resin. When we choose a resin we regard, toxicity, light resistance, solidity, productivity and reasonable price. And B resin is the one we chose at last. We believe all the White, Normal, Ebony skin dolls we sold in last few years will prove it doesn’t have yellowing problem. We also have conducted numerous yellowing test on B resin but since a lot of you are interested we will conduct a new yellowing test again openly.

We will test Normal, Peach Gold, Special Real and Light Brown skin and we share the process on our site so everyone can know. We will expose these parts in direct sunlight and share the result on NOTICE.

We apologize for not informing you in advance and if we change resin in the future, we promise to inform you in advance.

Thank you for sharing you time and if you have any question please leave a message on Q&A board.
