Recently we received Email from one customer asking about a secondhand doll bought on Ebay. She thought it was a counterfeit doll instead of secondhand doll and wanted to check it with us. She sent several pictures so we can examine the doll.

As you can see it is in a pretty bad shape. But there are also some distinctive features you can only see in counterfeit dolls so we want to share these pictures.

First, we don’t make holes in the feet like the picture. Hole if the picture is too much big and messy. We check all our dolls before shipping them to customers and destroy them if there is any little problem with the doll so it can’t be our doll.

Second, there is too much scratch marks all around the body. Scratch marks can be made naturally by playing with the doll but there is too much scratch marks. Also there are scratch marks in places like cleavage where it can’t be made by just playing with the doll. To get scratch marks in these places you have to sand them down on purpose. If a doll is made with a very old mold, moles can get ripped and moles can be made all around the body. And it looks like an amateur tried to remove the moles by sanding them down very roughly.

Third, inside the joints looks totally different from our dolls. In case of our dolls, we take them out from the mold and adjust all the joints and sand down inside the joints. So our dolls can’t have messy and broken joints like the picture. If a doll is made in old mold and if you don’t adjust or sand down the joints, it can look like the picture. Inside the joints can get broken while playing with the doll, but it can get messy like the picture.

Finally, ears look totally different from our Iplehouse dolls. There are many holes in the ears. This can be made only when if it is made with a very old mold which was not taken care for long time. We check our mold every day and change them constantly so holes like the picture can’t be made.

Some of the dolls sold in Ebay as secondhand dolls are counterfeit dolls. Please be careful in when buying secondhand dolls. We send CoA with all the dolls, so please ask for CoA before buying.
